Carbon Reduction Plan
Commitment to Achieving Net Zero
FleetEV Limited is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 in accordance with UK Government policy and in line with PPN 06/20 procurement requirements.
FleetEV’s core business model is centred on the decarbonisation of vehicle fleets and the transition to zero-emission transport across the public and private sectors. Through the provision of electric vehicles, charging infrastructure solutions, and electrification consultancy, FleetEV actively supports organisations in reducing their transport-related emissions.
This Carbon Reduction Plan outlines FleetEV’s baseline emissions, current emissions reporting, and carbon reduction initiatives to achieve this commitment.
Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions.
Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline emissions represent the greenhouse gases produced in the year prior to the implementation of carbon reduction measures. FleetEV will measure emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard.
Baseline Year (2024)
Emissions have been estimated using UK Government (DEFRA) emission factors and are representative of FleetEV's operational model as a growing SME.
Baseline Year Emissions (tCO₂e)
Scope 1: 2.5
Scope 2: 6.0
Scope 3 (included sources): 36.5
Total: 45.0
Supplementary baseline Scope 3 breakdown from the original submitted Carbon Reduction Plan (tCO₂e)
Scope 1
Direct emissions: 2.5
Scope 2
Purchased electricity: 6.0
Scope 3
Business travel: 8.5
Employee commuting: 12.0
Waste generated in operations: 1.0
Upstream transportation and distribution: 15.0
Total Emissions: 45.0 tCO₂e
Current Emissions Reporting
FleetEV is implementing a formal carbon accounting methodology aligned with the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard to ensure accurate annual reporting.
Reporting Year 2025 Emissions (tCO₂e)
Scope 1: 2.0
Scope 2: 4.5
Scope 3 (included sources): 30.8
Total: 37.3
Supplementary baseline Scope 3 breakdown from the original submitted Carbon Reduction Plan (tCO₂e)
Scope 1
Direct emissions: 2.0
Scope 2
Purchased electricity: 4.5
Scope 3
Business travel: 7.0
Employee commuting: 10.0
Waste generated in operations: 0.8
Upstream transportation and distribution: 13.0
Total Emissions: 37.3 tCO₂e
This represents an approximate 17% reduction from the 2024 baseline.
Emissions Reduction Targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving net zero, FleetEV has set the following carbon reduction targets. Progress against these targets will be reported annually.
• Achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050
• Reduce operational emissions by 50% by 2035 against the baseline year
• Transition operational transport to 100% zero-emission vehicles by 2030
• Reduce Scope 2 electricity emissions through renewable electricity procurement
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 36.0 tCO₂e by 2030. This is a reduction of 20%.
Carbon Reduction Projects
Completed Carbon Reduction Initiatives
The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since the 2024 baseline. These schemes support FleetEV’s target to reduce carbon emissions to 36.0 tCO₂e by 2030, representing a 20% reduction against the 2024 baseline, and the measures will be in effect when performing the contract.
FleetEV has implemented or plans to implement the following measures across its operations.
Fleet and Transport
Transitioning company vehicles to electric vehicles
Encouraging the use of electric vehicles through employee salary sacrifice schemes
Promoting low-carbon transport for business travel
Encouraging remote meetings to reduce travel emissions
Energy Use
Procuring electricity from renewable energy suppliers where possible
Improving office energy efficiency through LED lighting and energy management practices
Exploring solar generation and smart energy systems through the PLUG Charging division
Supply Chain
Working with vehicle manufacturers and leasing partners that support net zero commitments
Encouraging suppliers to adopt carbon reduction policies
Considering carbon impact within procurement decisions
Waste and Resource Management
Digital-first operations to minimise paper usage
Recycling policies within office locations
Reduction of unnecessary physical materials in operations
Supporting the Decarbonisation of Clients
FleetEV plays an active role in supporting the decarbonisation of transport across the UK public sector. Through these services, FleetEV contributes to significant indirect emissions reductions across customer fleets.
Fleet electrification consultancy
Provision of electric vehicles to organisations
Charging infrastructure deployment
Fleet transition planning aligned with local authority net zero strategies
Future Carbon Reduction Initiatives
In the future we hope to implement further measures such as those set out in the original submitted Carbon Reduction Plan and reproduced above.
Governance
Responsibility for implementing this Carbon Reduction Plan sits with the Senior Leadership Team at FleetEV Limited.
The plan will be reviewed annually, and progress will be monitored through operational and environmental reporting.
