Another year has skyrocketed by for the FleetEV National League, displaying incredible talent from the eight teams across Wales. Coastal Heat and Powys Sparks were added to the roster ahead of the competition, and what additions they have been! The announcement of FleetEV as the headline sponsor kicked off the National League excitement back in April on World Earth Day.
At FleetEV, we are on a mission to catalyse the transition to electric vehicles for businesses, the public sector, and individual consumers. We have been proud to support the competition, driven by our passion and commitment to promoting sports and physical wellness, particularly among women. We believe in the power of sport to inspire, unite, and empower, and have been honored to support the athletes and staff.
“It has been an absolute honor to support the FleetEV National League this year. Witnessing the positive impact we’ve generated across Wales has been both incredible and inspirational. We are excited to continue our support next year, building on this year’s solid foundations to further elevate the profile of women’s sports in Wales.” commented Jarrad Morris, FleetEV Founder & CEO
Our brilliant team sponsors, including Gallery Loft Conversations (Valleys Volcanoes), Tantrwm (Valleys Volcanoes), Bute Energy (Powys Sparks), The Print Co (South East Blaze), and MechTech (South East Blaze), have all been integral to this year’s competition . We thank everyone who joined us in another successful year.
Taking the FleetEV National League across Wales has been a privilege, both in person and through live streaming alongside the sensational hosts in commentary. A massive thank you to Pamela Cookey, Elain Roberts, and Nat Peperell, who brought the games to life. It was amazing to provide athletes, management, and umpires the opportunity to share their experiences both on and off court; we thoroughly enjoyed their presence.
Hosting the events across three competition venues allowed the FleetEV National League to travel to Bangor University, Ebbw Vale Sport Centre, and Cardiff City House of Sport. We extend our gratitude to all the venues for their support.
North East Inferno soared to new heights, defeating the defending champions, Valleys Volcanoes, in a nail-biting final. Goal for goal early and in front of a vocal crowd at Cardiff City House of Sport, both teams proved they could perform under pressure. Inferno worked incredibly hard to maintain an undefeated league standing, and a hard-fought four-goal win saw North East Inferno raise the FleetEV National League trophy in an electric match that ebbed and flowed. The battle had it all. Hundreds of fans traveled far and wide to watch the match unfold, and what a display of talent it was.
Outstanding performances by two individuals across the whole competition saw them awarded the Most Valuable Players. Caitlin Jones from North East Inferno and Gwenan Williams from North West Fury are credits to their teams. Determination, grit, and sheer talent radiated from them both throughout their time on court.
We extend immense congratulations to all teams, coaches, and management staff for displaying a fiercely competitive competition, and a big thank you to everyone involved in making it happen, including our umpires and volunteers – we couldn’t do it without you! Results and final standings can be found here.
As we now enter a review period, we look to build the FleetEV National League to be bigger, better, and bolder for 2025.
